Wow!Time Flies!Months ago it was Happy new year and now we are counting down to a new year!We  all should be grateful for the precious gift of life.

There were a lot of telenovelas on air and believe me when I watched every though i didn't follow some religiously eg SHAMPAIGN which looked good ,some I gave the grace of one week/first five episodes and will sometimes still go back   to wawu but ko werk. I hope they improve  as we need people to  watch more  local productions.

So here's my Ten favourite television series for this year 2016 starting with the comedy

1)THE JOHNSONS

This drama series had been airing for a while but i didn't catch the bug till my children convinced me it was interesting so I decided to watch and i added it to my must watch.The Johnsons is about a family with very interesting and unique characters from the illiterate  mother Emu (Ada Ameh),Lucky'lolo' (Charles Inojie).their children Jenifer,Efe,Tari,Blessing(Seun Adebajo Osigbesan,Chinedu Ikedieze,Olumide Oworu,Susan Pwajok) and their extended child Spiff(Samuel Ajibola) and Drip the maid(Kocabelle Guemini).Oga Pablo(Kunle Bamtefa) and Muhammed(Gaji Samuel).The sitcom is from the stable of Native Media and airs on all Africamagic channels though some are ahead of others.

2)JENIFA'S DIARY

*Oh ho ho anything she wants she must to get oo Jenifa,Jenifa she no dey gree at all.....(oya sing the rest by yourself hehehhe) .Just like The Johnsons my children made me watched this too when it came to Africamagic and it is hilarious!From Jenifa's (Funke Akindele-Bello) greeting 'how is you' and her forever snapchatting and Instagramming.The sweet Toyosi (Juliana Olayede),Kiki(  Lota Chukwu ),Adaku(Omotunde Adebowale)  aka jeun koku(Omotunde )  Sege( Folarin Falz Falana) and many others .even stars have been on this sitcom (Cameo) Jemifa's diary is not only hilarious but teaches a moral lessons ,and exposes societal ills.It is produce by Scene One Productions.

3)ZONE222

This is one very Hilarious comedy series though shortlived but the producers have promised to be back next year.A traditionalist  HajiKay( Papa Sam) ,Jambito(Tomiwa Kukoyi),Josephine(Vanessa Ogboru) Freddo the by force by fire comedian(Patrick Dibuah), Prof the efiwe bookworm(Jaiyeola Muyiwa) Fatima(Eden Attai) ,Imported(Anthony Igwe) amomgst others.The comedy series was shot in Obafemi Awolowo university and personally I rate it the funniest comedy on Tv.It's a production of NativeMedia.

4)HUSTLE

Mama Sekinat(Shola Shobowale) and her tenants ,children always have something brewing.from Dayu as his landlady calls him (Seun Ajayi) ,Acid (Maurice Sam)  ,Seyi Law(Osere),Cindy(Steph Coker),Uzor(Uzodinma Osinkpa) etc There's always a theme for each episode .It is produced by Uche Ikejimba.

The Drama
5)JIKULUMESU 

With Love from Angola.it's about Love ,betrayal and revenge. Borges Macula  as Joel Kapala his ladylove  in the telenovella Sandra Gomes  as Djemila( who faced torture from the mean Prof Magharita,Bianca ,Greg (Maueza Monteiro,Marta Faial ,Ery Costa) .The telenovella gave us both bad (Nzola's rape  and eventual death,Laura)  and  the bad people got served and we  had more than one happily ever after.The production good as well.the ending concert looked very real and I will not be surprised if it was a life one.English is not the original language.

6)HUSH

This is  also drama filled .Romance, suspense,betrayal and even death.Bem Tsenogu(Richard Mofe Damijo) is the man of the moment having to deal with both Populus as Headservant and also the CEO of House Of Tsenogu).Hush gives us comedy to with Ruffy Jaskin (Kunle Fawole) .Alabama(Saheed Azzez Balogun) .It's an interesting one.  Nativemedia is here again for Africamagic.

7)ISIBAYA

 South Africa origin,This drama series original language is not in English but the producers did subtitle/dub ,they also adopted the pidgin  to replace the original language spoken.The tussle for power is between the Zungus and the Ndolovus .The plot,production value is commendable.It is from the stable of Bomb Productions.

8) THE GOVERNOR

The thirteen(13) episode political drama set in fictive state of  Savannah.Angela Ochello(Caroline Chikezie) emerges governor after the death of the former governor  Peter Akala(Ayo Lijadu).The lady governor is met with stiff opposition from the moment she was sworn in but she was bailed out by her husband  David Ochello(Bimbo Manuel) as we later discovered.Good production and it's from the stable of EbonylifeTv

9)SONS OF THE CALIPHATE

This is also a political drama and it's one of the very first drama series to explore the Northern part of Nigeria.Three Rich Kids Nuhu Bula(Mofe Duncan),Khalifa(Paul Sambo) and the sly Dikko(Yakubu Mohammed) are childhood friends but Politics,a woman has put a crack on their friendship with Nuhu feeling the heat more than the others.It's a 13 Part drama series and is currently on Episode 10.An Ebonylife Tv signature as well.Other acts in the drama series include Binta(Rahama Sadau) .Nita Byack George(Khalifa's wife) Lotti (Yvonne Hays).Alhaji Loko(Patrick Doyle) amongst others The opening sequence also gives you the Northern feel.

10)A)HIGHLITES WITH IK

This is that friday night show on Africamagic hosted by IK Osak  that makes you relax(Even the guest are as well) !Guests are invited and they are made to do unsual games ,the news section and putting the celebrity and non celebrities  on the spot .The show is a creative one.
B) THE BOOT

This show is also a creative one hosted by Denrele Edun in a keke with Frank Donga as the rider.The concept is what really attracted me as it.It airs on Ebonylife Tv.

So  I am back to watching Tinsel,that first Nigerian production that wowed me with all it's effizi and brilliantly done but somewhere along the line i truthfully speaking i lost interest but  I now watch it again in mind and body .

James Town :It's a new series from Tatafo HQ and it's from Tatafo HQ(Victor Sanchez Aghahowa) who has worked on top Nigerian drama series.It airs on Africamagicshowcase.
