Movie Review:Road to yesterday
Victoria (Genevieve Nnaji) and her husband Izu Udoka(Oris Erhuero) go on a road trip to be able as a means to revive their estranged marriage and relationship ,the trip brings back a lot of memories (flashbacks)both the good, the bad and the ugly of the past of the couple and how they got to the junction they are presently.
At the beginning of the film some people might get bored initially but will amazed at the dimension the movie will take. The movie also requires focus or else you might not be able to link past to the present.
The acting by cast was on good ,Onome(Chioma Omeruah aka Chigurl) didn't let us down as a comedian though not the regular type of comedy we are used to seeing her do and when she was not being funny she played the part well .The lead male character Izu did very well and i enjoyed his acting every step of the way ,the character ,for Victoria i feel she was a bit laid back with her acting(maybe i expected more going by her previous movies)for instance at the hospital scene the outpour of emotion was low,it's not like i expected her to start rolling on the floor or something but........
The soundtrack used was 'on point' as it fitted perferctly .The props, location etc also good.
The surprise bend the film brings is one majority will never see coming and that is one thing that gave the movie that thumbs up.
It is a movie you will patiently enjoy and very good one.
The movie is based on a story by Genevieve Nnaji Emil Garuba ,directed by Ishaya Bako.
